Winter Symposium and Care Visit Held at the School of Humanities

On the afternoon of December 26, 2025, the Winter Symposium and Care Visit of the School of Humanities was successfully held in Room B229 of the Humanities Building. Ping Weiying, Vice President of the university; Wang Shujun, Party Secretary of the School of Humanities; Han Dong, Acting Dean of the school; and Zhao Guo, Deputy Party Secretary of the school, attended the event. Relevant counselors and 12 student representatives also participated. The symposium was hosted by Zhao Guo.

On behalf of the university, Vice President Ping Weiying extended warm winter greetings and care to the students. She affirmed the School of Humanities’ remarkable achievements in recent years in disciplinary development, talent cultivation, academic atmosphere building, and cultural heritage preservation. She emphasized that the university always prioritizes students’ growth and development, encouraging them to cherish their time on campus, delve deeply into their majors, broaden their knowledge, and nurture a humanistic spirit. She expressed hope that students would realize both personal and social value in the fertile ground of Nanchang University.

Wang Shujun, Party Secretary of the School of Humanities, pointed out that the school always regards students’ growth and success as the starting point and ultimate goal of all its work. She emphasized the school’s commitment to supporting student development and fostering a warm, supportive, and uplifting educational environment. She inquired thoughtfully about the students’ academic and daily lives, encouraging them to proactively communicate with teachers whenever they encounter academic challenges or life difficulties. She assured the students that the school would always serve as their strongest backing, fully supporting their growth.

Han Dong, Acting Dean of the school, stated that the school would continue to optimize its training programs, closely aligning with societal needs and disciplinary development trends. Efforts will be made to strengthen university-enterprise collaboration and career guidance, while actively building platforms for academic exchange and practical experience. He also encouraged students to strengthen their ideals and convictions, clarify their development goals, and master their professional knowledge diligently, laying a solid foundation for future career development and life planning.

During the student representative session, students from different grades and majors actively shared their thoughts. Drawing from their own academic and life experiences, they discussed their gains and reflections during their time at the university. They also raised questions regarding academic development and career preparation. The attending leaders and teachers responded to and addressed each question and suggestion individually. The atmosphere was harmonious, and the discussions were sincere, showcasing the diligent, thoughtful, and positive spirit of humanities students.

Finally, Zhao Guo, Deputy Party Secretary of the school, summarized the symposium. She expressed gratitude to Vice President Ping Weiying and all the leaders and teachers for their attentive guidance and patient responses, and acknowledged the students’ active participation and constructive suggestions. She stated that the school would carefully review the opinions and suggestions raised by the students, implement improvements step by step, and continuously enhance educational services. She also hoped that students would transform the care and support from the university and school into motivation for learning, move forward with confidence and determination, and strive to reach new heights on their growth journey.

Laughter and warmth fostered growth, and heartfelt encouragement inspired progress. The symposium concluded successfully with a group photo of all participants. This event was not merely a winter care visit but also an in-depth educational practice. Through face-to-face listening and responses, it further improved the teacher-student communication mechanism, strengthened the synergy of education, and highlighted the university’s fundamental mission of being student-centered and fostering virtue and nurturing talents. The School of Humanities will continue to work hand in hand with all its students, nurturing a humanistic spirit, gathering strength for progress, and collectively advancing toward a more fulfilling and outstanding future.
