Our School Successfully Held the First Ming and Qing History Workshop

On November 15, 2025, the First Ming and Qing History Workshop, organized by the Department of History and the Center for Regional History and Archival Documents Research of the School of Humanities, was successfully held. Researcher Wei Mingkong from the Institute of Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Han Dong, Vice Dean (acting Dean) of the School of Humanities, and Professor Zhang Fanglin, Director of the Center for Regional History and Archival Documents Research, attended and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony was chaired by Professor Liu Jie, Vice Dean of the School of Humanities and Head of the Department of History.

The workshop focused on the theme "Regional History and Local Documents of the Ming and Qing Dynasties" and was divided into four sessions. These sessions were chaired respectively by Professor Li Pingliang, Dean of the School of History, Culture, and Tourism at Jiangxi Normal University; Editor Ye Lei from the Editorial Office of  Research on Chinese Economic History ; Professor Liao Yanbin, Vice Dean of the School of Humanities at Nanchang University; and Professor Huang Zhifan, Vice President of Jiangxi University of Science and Technology. Over 20 scholars from institutions including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, East China Normal University, Shanghai University, Hebei University, Xihua Normal University, Jishou University, Shanghai Lexicographical Publishing House, Jiangxi Normal University, Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, and our university delivered presentations and provided commentary. The participating scholars showcased the latest research findings on the workshop’s theme, advancing research in related fields.

After a day of in-depth and engaging academic discussions, Professor Zhang Xinguo, Vice Dean, Professor Liu Jie, and young faculty representatives Li Min and Zhao Wei summarized the proceedings. The workshop concluded successfully amid warm applause.
