Huang Zanmei

Huang Zanmei, male, Han ethnicity, from Ningdu, Jiangxi Province, began working at the university in July 1986. He is a professor and currently serves as Deputy Director of Nanchang University Library. He is also a master's thesis supervisor in the field of literary theory at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, School of Humanities, and a graduate supervisor for the International Chinese Language Education program. Additionally, he holds part-time positions as a standing director of the Jiangxi Literary and Art Society and vice chair of the Society’s Yitang Nine Masters Research Committee.He graduated from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Fudan University in 1999 with a Ph.D. in Literary Theory. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Poitiers, France.


Main Research Areas and Directions:


Literary Theory: Marxist literary theory, Western literary theory, literary theory and criticism

Aesthetics: Fundamental theories of aesthetics, Marxist aesthetics, Western aesthetics, aesthetic education

Major Academic Achievements and Awards:


He has published over 30 academic papers in core journals such as Theoretical Studies in Literature and Art, Jiangxi Social Sciences, and Hunan Social Sciences, as well as in specialized collected volumes including Marxist Literary Theory Studies, Oriental Forum, and Aesthetics and Art Criticism. He participated in compiling books such as A Brief Introduction to Artistic Aesthetics and the Ministry of Education’s 21st Century-oriented textbook Aesthetics.


He has successfully led and completed one National Social Science Fund project, two provincial-level humanities and social science projects, and five provincial-level teaching reform projects. He has also participated in multiple completed and ongoing National Social Science Fund projects, Ministry of Education humanities and social science projects, and provincial-level research initiatives.


Among his honors, he won first prize in the inaugural “One Proposal for the Development of Education in Jiangxi” campaign and received third prize once in the Jiangxi Provincial Social Science Outstanding Achievement Awards.
