Cao Xuecong

Cao Xuecong, male, Han ethnicity, from Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province, joined the university in June 2021. He holds a Ph.D. from the School of Humanities at Tsinghua University and was a visiting scholar at the University of Virginia, USA.

Western literary theory; Western aesthetics; Western Marxist literary theory; basic theories of literature; 20th-century Chinese literary theory; cross-cultural studies; popular culture studies; literary theory and criticism, among others.

He has led one general National Social Science Fund project, one general humanities and social sciences project funded by provincial universities, and one general educational reform research project. He has published multiple academic papers in key journals such as Literary Studies, Marxism & Reality, Modern Chinese Literature Studies, Shandong Social Sciences, and Dongyue Tribune.

He has received honors including Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation of Tsinghua University and Outstanding Doctoral Graduate of Tsinghua University.
