He Zhijun

He Zhijun, male, Han ethnicity, from Zhangjiakou, Hebei Province, joined the university in August 2020. He is a professor at the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, School of Humanities, Nanchang University. He studied at Hebei Normal University, Sichuan University, Shandong University, and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, earning a B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. in Literature, and completing postdoctoral research. He also serves as an evaluation expert for national arts and science planning projects, a peer reviewer for National Social Science Fund projects, and a communication reviewer for the Ministry of Education’s talent development programs.

Main Research Areas and Directions:


He has long been engaged in research on literary aesthetics, Chinese and foreign critical theory and practice, Marxist literary theory, and literature in relation to media. In recent years, his work has focused primarily on digital aesthetics and digitized aesthetic experience.

He has published over 240 academic papers and critical essays in prominent journals and newspapers, including Literary Review, People's Daily, Guangming Daily, Contemporary Cinema, Chinese Theatre, Journal of Inner Mongolia University, Journal of Hebei University, Journal of Henan University, Journal of Central South University, Journal of Hainan University, Academic Journal of Macau (University of Macau), Journal of Tibet University, Study & Exploration, Inner Mongolia Social Sciences, Dongyue Tribune, Zhongzhou Academic Journal, Jianghai Academic Journal, and Jianghuai Forum. Key publications include:

More than 30 of his papers have been reprinted or cited by publications such as University Intellectual Property Abstracts (Humanities and Social Sciences), Guangming Daily, Renmin University of China’s Book and Newspaper Information Center (covering Literary Theory, Aesthetics, Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature Research, Film and Television Art Studies), New Century Literary Theory Reader Series, Chinese Drama Yearbook, and Marxism and Scholarship: Biennial Selections of Marxist Literary Theory Essays.

He has authored, co-edited, or contributed to twelve monographs and textbooks published by China Social Sciences Press, Higher Education Press, and other presses. His monograph An Introduction to Literary Consumption was shortlisted for the 5th Lu Xun Literary Award in 2010.

He has successfully led and completed seven research projects, including one general National Social Science Fund project, one China Postdoctoral Science Foundation project, and several provincial-level social science planning projects. He currently leads one ongoing general National Social Science Fund project titled “Research on the Theoretical Discourse Construction of Digital Aesthetics,” as well as multiple other projects.
