Song Sanping, male, Han ethnicity, native of Jiujiang, Jiangxi. He joined the university as a faculty member in July 1988 and currently holds the position of Professor. He holds a Ph.D. in Journalism and Communication (specializing in the History of Journalism) and serves as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor. He has held various administrative roles, including Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department, Director of the Social Sciences Department, and Party Secretary of the School of Humanities at Nanchang University. Concurrently, he serves as a Council Member of the Jiangxi Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, Executive Council Member and Vice President of the Jiangxi Provincial Association of Young Social Science Scholars, Executive Council Member and Deputy Secretary-General of the Jiangxi Provincial Higher Education Humanities and Social Sciences Management Society, and is a member of both the Chinese Society of Song Dynasty History and the Chinese Society for Historical Documents Research.

  Primary Research Fields and Interests:

  Mainly focuses on Song Dynasty history, history of Chinese journalism, and the collation and research of ancient texts.

  Major Academic Achievements and Awards:

  He has contributed to over 10 co-authored books and published more than 30 academic papers. He has led or completed one National Social Science Fund General Project and over 10 provincial and university-level projects, including Jiangxi Provincial Social Science Planning Projects and Jiangxi Provincial Higher Education Humanities and Social Sciences Projects. His achievements have been recognized with nearly 10 awards, including the Second Prize of the Jiangxi Provincial Social Sciences Youth Excellence Award and the Third Prize of the Jiangxi Provincial Social Sciences Outstanding Achievement Award.
