Wang Yiming

  Wang Yiming, male, Han ethnicity, native of Feixi County, Hefei City, Anhui Province. He joined the university in October 2022 and currently holds the position of Associate Professor. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree (2003), a Master of Engineering degree (2006), and a Ph.D. in Philosophy (2014). He previously worked as an integrated circuit engineer, a civil servant in a western provincial science and technology bureau, and an administrative staff member in the science and technology department of a western university. His academic and professional journey has consistently revolved around the field of science and technology, where he has developed thoughtful reflections and practical experience.

  Primary Research Fields and Interests:

  Science and technology innovation and policy, sociology of scientific knowledge, philosophical interpretation of scientific frontiers.


  Courses Taught:

  For Undergraduates: Sociology of Scientific Knowledge, Philosophy of Science and Technology, History of Science and Technology, etc.

  For Postgraduates: Innovative Thinking in Science and Technology, Science and Society, etc.


  Major Academic Achievements:

  He has led two provincial/ministerial-level research projects and published multiple sole-authored papers in journals such as China Soft Science, Journal of Dialectics of Nature, and Studies in Science of Science. Two of his sole-authored papers have been reprinted by Xinhua Digestand Renmin University Copying Materials, respectively. He received the nomination award for the 19th Tsinghua University "Academic Rising Star" (2014).
